[My friend (Bill B.) was photographing an Indian cemetery in Eastern San Diego County, when a "Chief", ponytail, strap shirt, dusty, arrived in his pickup (just off his Caterpillar). Looking like a National Geographic personality, he gently told me he preferred we not photograph the cemetery. He talked of his involvement in the Sun Dance (we had passed the poles), and pulled aside the straps of his shirt, to show us his large, irregular, pectoral scars (from Sun Dance participation). The U.S. Government had shut down his Sun Dance (reportedly, the Sun Dance was a Plains Indians event)]. 1415
